DVA
Controls was formed in 2004 to design and produce specialised
electronic equipment for the UK and European markets.
Recognising the need for equipment not available ‘off the shelf’, the three key members of the team decided to make fuller use of the unique set of skills and opportunities that presented themselves.
DVA is a
collaboration of three people:
Dave, a successful company
director for over fifteen years with an educational software company;
Veronica, Oxford-educated in philosophy, politics and economics,
and with experience in industry and teaching;
Allan is the senior
designer of electronic equipment since studying electronic
engineering at University.
Allan has designed a very wide range of equipment. For example he has designed equipment for the marine market, which has been exported to Europe and South Korea, to ensure the safe loading and discharge of LNG carriers, and Ship to Shore Fiber Optic links giving complete electrical isolation in gas terminal industrial environments.
A large number of instrumentation projects, similarly, a large number of control projects. Some of these within the marine industry.
In contrast to this, Allan has designed products relating to the aeromodelling hobby industry; presently these are available via the Internet.
DVA Controls now (Oct 2005) has designs for four products, which the company produces within Wales and sells via the Internet with e-Commerce. The company has in-house design capabilities utilising a number of PC packages.
Allan also undertakes consultancy for electrical & electronic equipment design, software, and, with DVA, has in house design capacity.
